Veterans Administration denies it will be ending key program to assist homeless vets

Controversy erupted last week when media reports suggested that Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin planned to end a popular program for homeless veterans. Reportedly, the plan was to give the money previously assigned to the program to local VA hospitals which would then decide how to spend the money.

However, just hours after the first news reports about the rumored cuts, Shulkin stated that “there will be absolutely no change in the funding to support [the] homeless program.”
