Service in the Marines prepared this teacher to be tough in the classroom

We enjoyed a story in the Panama City News Herald about Alexis Underwood, a public school teacher known for her “great big command voice.” She is noted for having great control over her temper, while not putting up with any nonsense from students.

And she credits her time in the Marine Corps with preparing her for her role as a teacher.

Asked about her feelings regarding his service in the Marines, she was frank but positive.

“I wouldn’t trade it,” she said. “I didn’t enjoy large chunks of it, but it’s not there for me to enjoy. It taught me things in life that nothing else taught me.”

OOHRAH! We couldn’t have said it better, Marine! Best wishes to you and your students.
