Navy conducts carrier-based stealth flight operations

Naval aviators aboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson conducted flights in the new F-35C fighter jet last week.

The fighter could play a unique role in American military aviation, being the first carrier based stealth aircraft in America’s arsenal.

The new fighter is projected to become fully operation in 2018.

The Navy’s first stealth fighter conducted flight operations Oct. 18, aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) as the aircraft carrier trained off the coast of Southern California. Read more at source…
